Christmas
Ah, the day after Christmas. It's always such a letdown, isn't it? You spend months leading up to that one little day, then boom, over before you know it, and life continues on with its everyday tasks and responsibilities. It was a wonderful Christmas. I got to see my relatives from Florida, who I haven't seen in a year, and my cousin on my dad's side that I have not seen in two to three years, at best.
And I scored a digital camera! Woo-hoo!
I have lived perpetually in the stone age of cameradom until this point. I had one of those outdated FILM cameras, then I gave up on that and just bought disposables. Which don't take bad pictures, but you lose out on the instant gratification of the digital cameras, as well as the much-needed ability to view and delete! It was way above and beyond for my parents, and I was very much surprised, but thrilled with the gift! I also got the most amazing leather-bound writing journal from my sister. It's huge and unique, and breathtakingly beautiful. And it means so much to me because it's her way of saying to me that she believes in my writing, and believes that the things that I write are worthy to be placed in such a beautiful place. It makes me teary just thinking about it!
Scott got me a fun indulgence this year...the first season of "Alias" on DVD. I love that show. :) Between that, and the entire series of "Sex and the City" that I bought myself on Christmas Eve (50% off at Best Buy--SCORE!), I have tons to watch on these, my nights off before my crazy life kicks in again the second week of January.
It was a nice Christmas. Aside from the commercialism, aside from the time with family, it was good to be with our church family on Christmas Eve and read the story from Luke 2 aloud, and be reminded of that beautiful Christmas story. I hope that you and all of yours had a great Christmas, as well, and that peace and joy carry you well into the new year.
