Aches and crepes

Yesterday, we spent 10 hours putting up the first part of the set for the play. It takes much longer than one might expect for 10-15 people to set up a floor, walls, and doors...and prime/stain ourselves silly. It was exhausting work, and I am barely recovered. I am miffed at Scott, who has the day off today. Lucky. Also, I'm slightly nostalgic today as everyone talks about their big Easter dinners. I missed having Easter with my family, which is truly a shame. We do it up right with ham, mashed potatoes, and lots and lots of wine. Along with rejoicing in the reason for the day, of course. But I did get to have the best lasagna I have ever had, 4-mushroom lasagna with a cream sauce, made by Emily. I would pay a lot of money for that lasagna. And I got it for free. Okay, I got it for using muscles I didn't know existed for a long period of time yesterday. Not really for free. It didn't really feel like Easter at all, though, so that's the saddest part...Easter is the best holiday on the calendar!

In other news, there is a new crepe place in Andersonville, Icosium Kafe, that I discovered several weeks ago with my friend Janelle (okay, I didn't discover it, it's right on the corner of Foster and Clark and has a blue neon sign...which made me opposed to it initially, but I got over it). Scott and I went there again this weekend for dessert (after I read my Chicago magazine that night and it listed Icosium Kafe as one of their best new restaurants and I was reminded of their fabulous crepes!). Seriously, nothing makes my day like a Belgian Chocolate and Raspberry filled Crepe D' Amour. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. It's about time Andersonville got some good dessert options in the neighborhood. They're great at breakfast, and good at dinner, but dessert has been sorely lacking until now. Yay!
