Flying by the seat of my pants...
So I took my last final exam of my grad school career today (providing I don't decide some day to return for my PhD...we'll see!). And I studied for it the way I studied for all of the other final exams that I had in grad school...20 hurried minutes of flipping through lecture outlines 1 hour before the test. I thought to myself the other day that I should actually put the time in this time, just to be different. You know, spend some actual minutes perusing the information that the professor spent hours crafting into a well-thought out lecture. And then last night, I sat down with my stack of lecture outlines and fell asleep on the couch midway through the first one. It was worth a try, I say. I should get points for not falling asleep in the actual class!
So this morning, I was up baking brownies at 5:30 a.m. (don't ask) and I flopped onto the couch to read over the outlines. One quick glance over each one, the brownies were done, and I was getting ready for the day. I took my final exam with only one small misstep (I completely blanked on one question, but it was worth 4 points, so I didn't freak out about it), and on with my day.
And just like that, my last final exam (is that redundant? Should I say final final exam?) of my master's course is done. Only a paper and a Power Point presentation left to go, which are both almost done.
One of these days, I'm going to go in search of my discipline. I seem to have lost it. But definitely not today...
