Pizza
I don't like pizza. This strikes almost everyone as odd, especially living in Chicago. I don't know if there are more people out there like me, but it always causes a reaction when I say it. That doesn't mean that I won't eat pizza, or that I can't even enjoy a good piece of Chicago deep-dish, but I will never voluntarily choose to order a pizza, go to a pizza place, or buy frozen pizza at the store. It's not on my list of favorite foods, and I have very little use for it, overall. Funny, considering that it's Scott's favorite food.
How pizza can be anyone's favorite food is astounding to me. It's bread, cheese, meat, veggies. You can split them up and have them in so many different ways, the possibilities are endless. It just seems so boring to stick them all together and shove it down until you are filled with a bazillion greasy calories. It's not healthy, either. Scott says that I am obsessed with healthy food, and he finds this entertaining, since I eat junk food every day. It's true. I do eat junk food every day. Today, I have eaten a large bag of peanut M&M's as a case in point. However, as I explained to him, I love sushi. I adore it. I could eat sushi every single day for the rest of my life, and still love it. Only sushi from Rise, of course, but that's beside the point. If I was wealthy, I would eat 2-3 sushi rolls a night every night, with a side of healthy edamame (soy beans, good soy protein). It's ridiculously healthy for you (hence why the people of Japan are so much healthier than we are!). So if I was rich, I would be very healthy. The fact that I am not rich, and that I work on the south side of Chicago, where there is a sad, sad lack of sushi places, are conspiring against me to force me to eat fast food. I hate fast food. Every day, the thought of going out and getting Wendy's, Arby's, Taco Bell, or McDonald's makes me slightly ill. I hate eating that food. But I'm not disciplined enough to make myself a lunch (though today, I made myself lemon-pepper tuna with fresh tomatoes from my parents' garden) most of the time, and I don't like salads at restaurants, so that rules out that option for a healthier choice (not kidding. I don't like lettuce, so that rules out 99% of salads. Besides, everyone I know who eats salad because "it's healthy" loads them up with cheese, eggs, bacon and dressing, which I stay very quiet about, because telling them that their salad is likely less healthy than my quarter pounder with cheese would most likely be devastating to them). So I have very few options. If anyone has better ones, let me know. I may resort back to my old staple of frozen dinners (Healthy Choice, of course!).
Anyway, I don't like pizza or salads (except for this one I make with spinach, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, strawberries, pecans and poppyseed dressing...mmm). Some think this, especially the pizza part, makes me unAmerican. There is a website dedicated to pizza called "America's favorite food." I think that's ridiculous. The fact that pizza is America's favorite food should be more sad than good. I know that everyone that is reading this blog probably loves pizza, and that's your choice. All I know is that this American isn't buying into the hype. And my cardiologist thanks me.

Careful Tracey, remember I said I like that I just liked Sorpranos as a friend and wasn't in love and Scott and Tyler tried to get me kicked out of Church.
I like pizza- not in love with it though. Pizza has it's place: keggers, movie nites in and when curtis and i are too lazy and poor to get anything else. I agree with you about the salads- though i do like the taste of an unhealthy salad more than a big mac - plus it must have less of the 'bad' cholesterol and more vitamins. Hmmm, i'll ruminate on your query. What should tracy eat....
