Back to reality

I returned from Cancun, MX last night, and am slowly settling back into the life that I call my own. Cancun was a blast! I got a stamp in my passport (yippee! I was so excited. The Mexican Customs girl thought I was a bit loony because I was so excited!), only minor burns, for the most part, and had a great, relaxing time. If ever you are headed to Cancun, I highly recommend the Omni Resort and Villas...wonderful, wonderful place with everything you could dream of in a tropical paradise (and great service, which I notice every time). The wedding was perfect, perfect, perfect. I'm so happy for Janelle and David...they've been dating for almost 6 years, so they were ready to be married. And now they are! I consumed more than my allotted share of alcoholic beverages there, however, so I'm glad to be back in my sober and boring life. My body needs a break from my vacation! The only sad part of my vacation was the fact that Scott wasn't along to enjoy it with me...it's such a romantic place that I was constantly missing him. Ah, well, now that I'm back home, I get to see him, and see his new play. (If you want a fun evening in the city, check out the play: "Funeral Wedding (the Alvin Play)" at the Athenaeum theatre in Chicago from May 18--June 17. Performances are Th, Fri, Sat at 8:00, and Sunday at 5:00 p.m., tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or the Athenaeum Theatre box office. I've heard great things, and I'm looking forward to seeing it for myself.)

But overall, I miss Mexico already. Being able to lay in bed and watch the turquoise waves crashing on the white beach is a luxury that every person should experience at least once in their lifetime. It is priceless, and makes me so thankful that we have a God who is so creative that He chooses different colors for the sea and the sand. ¡A Dios es la Gloria!
