Fall is here! Actually, I think Indian Summer is resuscitating itself one last time. But mostly, fall is here. I love fall, the trees changing color, the smells and sound of the leaves crunching underneath your feet. Also, it is my birthday just around the corner, and so there's always that. My nephew, who will be two this month, is thrilled to death with the "dumpkins" that they got at the pumpkin farm, and when describing them to me on the phone dropped the phone suddenly and ran over to the window to "show" them to me. Too bad video phones have not yet become the rage, I would've loved to see that moment instead of hearing it!
Maybe that will be my next life project, to be the new spokesperson for videophones. I think my tag line will be, "If you think my voice is sexy, wait until you see me." :) Nothing like shameless self-promotion to just cheer up the telecommunications universe. Besides, the telecommunications world obviously needs some attractive female distractions, because ever since I have started working at this internship not far from one of the many suburban locations of Motorola, I am constantly ogled by businessmen in suits. It's the weirdest thing. It's getting to the point where it's starting to unnerve me a little bit. That sounds so vain, and I'm not trying to be vain. But you'd think they'd never seen a hot redhead before. I mean, I can't be the only one out there.
Hm...maybe that's another career path. To quote Zoolander: "How did you know that you wanted to be a supermodel? Derek Zoolander: Well I guess it all started the first time I went through the second grade. I caught my reflection in a spoon while I was eating my cereal, and I remember thinking "wow, you're ridiculously good looking, maybe you could do that for a career." Matilda: Do what for a career? Derek Zoolander: Be professionally good looking."
Good to know...if the social work career bombs, and my job as a spokesperson for the videotelecommunications industry is a wash, I can just be professionally good-looking. Now, where's my resume?
