2008--and a Top 10 list for good measure
And I'm back...
My two-week Christmas vacation from my grad school internship was quite the whirlwind. Meaning that I worked quite a few hours and went to Pennsylvania with Scott for his family's Christmas. I enjoy Pennsylvania, I'm hoping to see it in the summertime this year with Scott, as I always see it when it's cold and dreary, similar to Chicago this time of year. We met up with Kristin and Curtis at the Yuengling Brewery, because Kristin's parents live only an hour from Scott's parents, oddly enough. So it's ironic that we drove 11 hours to hang out with our friends from Chicago, but we had a blast at the brewery and subsequent pizza (Curtis, I know you're thinking about that awesome cheese steak pizza right now!).
As much as I enjoyed my Christmas vacation, I find myself longing for a beach vacation somewhere. I feel like this winter weather is starting to get to me. Maybe because I know that as long as it stays cold, I'm still in graduate school. I am praying for the days of the warm weather...and for grad school to be OVER. I have definite senior-itis.
Over the break, we saw Atonement, an amazing movie by Joe Wright, my favorite director. He finds a way to paint a beautiful picture with his films (his "Pride and Prejudice" is my favorite movie of all time) and I am entranced from the moment the movie starts until it ends. If you get a chance, go see it.
Since we are now into 2008, I feel that it is time for me to publish my top 10 movies of 2007. Keep in mind that I have not watched many of the movies that I wanted to see this year because of my busy schedule. I'll keep you updated on those as they appear on my Netflix queue.
Here are my top 10 of the movies I DID see this year:
1.) Lars and the Real Girl
2.) Atonement
3.) Juno
4.) Once
5.) Michael Clayton
6.) I am Legend
7.) Waitress
8.) Ratatouille
9.) The Brave One
10.) Enchanted
That's what I've got, that I can remember. :)
Happy 2008 to all!!
