The M&M Philosophy
I just had some Berry M&M's. The idea is kind of weird, and it's hard to wrap your head around the concept. But they're kind of tasty...in a one-per-10-minute-period or so. Not as binge-worthy as the original. They taste like those colored chocolate covered raspberry things, without the raspberry in the middle. They look like pink Mega M&M's. I'm describing them to you because apparently, some coworkers of mine ingested them thinking they were normal M&M's, then spent the next 10 minutes trying to repair their taste buds. It's all in your expectations. If you're expecting a normal M&M, a berry taste will apparently make you run for the hills. If you're expecting a Berry M&M, you're up for a taste adventure and can judge things more clearly.
I expect that it's the same in life. Having an expectation for one thing and getting another can sometimes leave a bitter taste in your mouth. But having no expectations can often leave you with a strange, new taste in your mouth that you realize is not altogether bad after a while. Once you adjust to the taste, it's just another way to get a chocolate fix! (What?! Your life isn't focused on getting chocolate fixes? What kind of life is that?!)
And if that's too philosophical for you on this Friday, go to Becomeanmm.com and design an M&M to look like you. It's a hoot!

M&Ms?! They are messing with M&Ms and making them fruity!? If you want something fruity get some Starburst (the Tropical kind, of course)!
