Funeral Wedding and Weekend Update

Fabulosity. This is my new, invented word. I am using it to describe the lovely, funny, entertaining, and slightly creepy new play "Funeral Wedding (the Alvin Play)", currently playing at the Athenaeum Theatre in Chicago. Go see it. You will understand why I needed a great new word to describe it. This is what theatre should look like, people. Pay attention!!

Anyway, so I saw the play on Saturday night, and loved it, obviously. (If you ignore my dire pleas for you to see it, you will be sad and regretful later on. And then I will refuse my hankie, saying, "I told you so." I'm telling you that now, so don't you act all surprised later...) As for the rest of the weekend...

Went out with wonderful Parable friends after the play, had a great time chatting, drinking, and watching replays of the Cubs-Sox melee this weekend. Stayed out way too late, but it is always a balm for my heart to hang out with them, so I didn't mind. Until I had to get up at 8:00 for church the next morning, that is...

Church was great, great, great. I missed it after tra-la-la'ing about the continent for the past few weeks, and it was great to be back (especially for the fabulous praise and worship part!). Scott would not share his Bible with me during the service, however, and I spent a good minute being miffed at him about it. It's generally a bad idea to be miffed at church, but it is also a bad idea not to share your Bible. It's meant to be shared, it says so right inside. Anyway...

I also found out at church that I will be manning the admission gates for Midsommarfest, Andersonville's summer street festival, for a time on Sunday, June 11. This causes me great excitement, because there is a possibility that I will be given a stamp to stamp people's hands with as they enter. If you recall my earlier blog re: my passport not getting stamped, I love stamps. I am looking forward to happily stamping away. Just my luck, I'll have to give out the raffle tickets. :)

I took two (count 'em, TWO) naps on Sunday afternoon, and am still wiped out exhausted today. Why is this, you ask? I ask, too. WHY AM I STILL TIRED?? There, I asked. If God or the rest of the universe gives me an answer, I'll be sure to get back to you.

And now it is Monday. Start of a new week, endless possibilities, but even more exciting, the fact that next Monday is a holiday and I can loll around in bed to my heart's content. Or at least until I have to get up. This thought alone will get me through this week...
