Intermission

Deep sigh. The play is over. It will sink in a few days, I think. Today I am just tired from tearing down the set and all the activity from the weekend. The play was a success on all levels, from people's reactions to the number of people in the seats each night to the serious fun we had doing it. For the first time, I felt confident as an actor. I had a great time playing Sarah, and I was able to connect with audiences. I got a lot of positive feedback from people, and some from people in the theater community, which was humbling and so nice. I know that I am not in the league that they are. But I was glad that I was able to get into character and stay there for the entire duration of the run. I will miss my new family of castmates, but I am hoping to hang out with them again sometime soon. In the meantime, the world has not stopped for me, and I need to churn out the rest of the to-do list in the next two weeks.

If you recall, in March/April, I was more than slightly batty because I was running around trying to nail down my life in nice, complete compartments. I got an internship for next year, I got an apartment (starting tomorrow! Yippee!), and I couldn't wait for the school thing to settle down and the play to be over, and me to be all moved in to my new apartment so I can breathe. Well. Here we are. I will be done with my last paper for school today (yay!), and then all I need to focus on is moving, which is coming up in just shy of two weeks. After that, I have work and my internship, and a LOT of vacation days. I'm so excited!! I can't wait to go to Florida in May with my nephew, who has grown into a talkative toddler while I've been busy. And the rest of my family, of course, but I'm excited about Luke most of all. Kary and Lauren are coming in to Chicago 4th of July week, so that's something to look forward to, and Scott and I are planning on going to NYC in July for a wedding, which will be momentous as I have never been there in my ENTIRE LIFE (which is, you know, a long time!). We are planning on seeing a Broadway show or two, so I'm very excited about that!

So, for the moment, there is still busyness. I am looking at a pile of boxes begging to be filled with all of my earthly belongings (belongings which need to be sorted and gotten rid of, as I am seriously downsizing!). I am finishing my last paper for my school semester tonight. And I am looking forward to my roommate's wedding this weekend. But the clouds are clearing, in my life and outside, and it's going to be a beautiful day...
