Hey, y'all, I finally found the 21st century!!!
I got the internet at my house today. Which means that I can BLOG. Shocking. I know that a few of you fell over from the shock of discovering that I had, indeed, written a new blog. I hope that your noggins are okay.
Here's my rundown of the last few months for your reading pleasure, bulletpoint style because you really don't want to read the narrative style, I assure you.
- Thanksgiving in PA with Scotty's family. Fun times, good food (and wine, because we were the outlaws who brought alcohol to the family party for the FIRST TIME), and more than one male cousin OUTRAGEOUSLY impressed with my football knowledge. I now have trash-talking privileges with his cousins about football via text message. I love being a girl who loves football.
- Christmas at home with my family. Again with the fun times and good food. And a grandpa (whom I love with all my heart) that backed his car into a watery ditch on the way out of the driveway and needed to be rescued by my kick-ass brother-in-law while the rest of the male relatives (including Scott) watched helplessly. Ah, fun times, indeed!
- New Year's with my sister and her family, and my parents in Michigan. We missed the midnight countdown because we were watching "Prince Caspian". That, in and of itself, is hilarious.
- Movie watching: "Slumdog Millionaire" was amazing and lovely. I LOVED it. It's a must-see movie. "The Wrestler" was difficult and sad, and I couldn't stop thinking about it for three days after I saw it. I can't decide which is a better movie, honestly. See them both for different reasons. I closed my eyes during the wrestling scenes in "The Wrestler," they were super violent. But the movie is still amazing.
- 2009 is thus far a sucky year, with two very difficult deaths of people close to me in the same week, with 5 or so doctor's appointments for me in two weeks to find out what the heck is wrong with my head. It better get better from here.
- I am directing a play that has auditions this Sunday and starts rehearsals in one month. My life is consumed with details that I could not have imagined 6 months ago. Though I do get to carry around a pretty cool briefcase with my play stuff in it, thanks to my beautiful friend Christine.
- Went to Zach and Kate's last weekend to play Rock Band. I do not suck as much as I would have imagined either on vocals or on the drums. This does not mean that I compare even closely with Super-Scott, who excels at all things musical. Punk.
- Scott is out with friends playing games right now, and I have been invited, but all involved have been told "the Sorry story", so not-so-secretly no one wants me to come. If you have not yet heard this story, you already think better of me than those who have. But I will tell you if you ask.
There you go. I'm sure that there is more to my life in the last few months than that. But, really, how much do you need to know? The good news is that if you do want to know, I will be blogging more frequently now that there is a computer next to my bed. If you didn't want to know, too bad for you. :) Hugs to all!
